Prof. Dr. Ray Brassier

Ray Brassier is Professor of Philosophy at the American University of Beirut, known for his work in philosophical realism. He is the author of Nihil Unbound: Enlightenment and Extinction (Palgrave 2007) and the English translator of works by Alain Badiou and Quentin Meillassoux.


His current research interests include inferentialism, naturalized conceptions of rationality and the link between rationality and discursive practices. Key authors for his research are: Plato, Kant, Hegel, Marx, Sellars, Brandom, and Badiou.
